Paul Hoatson, Charter Analyst at ACS Dubai, recently provided a B737-800 to ‘evacuate’ some passengers from a cruise ship nearing Somalia’s pirate-infested waters.

Hoatson received a request to fly 80 passengers from Salalah in Oman on to Luxor in Egypt, whilst the cruise vessel passed through the Gulf Of Aden and into the Red Sea. Hoatson commented: “there were a number of passengers aboard the ship that preferred the thought of a tour around the Pyramids, rather than pass through the troubled waters around Somalia!” He added: “the passengers then met up with the ship in Egypt when it passed through later.”

They had a lovely, relaxing time in Egypt away from worrying about pirates.
